I am working with an organization called, “Abstinence Till Marriage,” or ATM. With funding from the federal government and President Bush, this faith-based initiative program is being taught in high schools. Teens are learning the consequences of having sex outside of marriage. ATM has been credited for contributing to the recent decline of teen pregnancies across the country. ATM teaches that abstinence has many rewards including:
As Miss Teen Ohio, I am using my crown & banner as a microphone to send teens a positive message from someone practicing the abstinent lifestyle. I remind them “You Are Worth Waiting For”. |

 While on a mission trip to Anapra, Mexico, I volunteered in the free medical clinic. I was sad to see there were unmarried girls who were only thirteen and already pregnant. Even though I have always been committed to abstinence, it made me realize even more the importance of remaining pure until marriage. |
