“LENDING A HAND TO NEW AMERICANS
SU CASA HISPANIC CENTER”
Hospice Philosophy
The United States is a country built out of the lives of immigrants. Many people here can trace back to a time when their ancestors were not living in this country, as well as when their ancestors made their journey to America . I believe that immigrants today are going to play a major role in helping shape the future of our country. But once they arrive, their experience here can oftentimes be quite difficult.
Many of these people cannot speak English well, have no form of transportation, experience difficulties finding jobs, and have trouble finding access to health care. Su Casa helps immigrants (in particular Hispanics) find jobs, access to healthcare, learn more about new opportunities in the tri-state area, provides them with temporary transportation to jobs, as well as helping them learn better English.
Through my work I have learned that as Americans, it is vital for us to lend a hand to our new fellow Americans who may not feel comfortable in their new country.
Strong English skills and access to health care and jobs can be the foundation of success for our new American brothers and sisters. |
